Japanese brass virtuosos for the first time in Lieksa! N-Crafts' versatile concert program includes music from Johann Sebastian, Joe Hisaishi and Gordon Langford, among others.


Japanise N-Craft brass quintet's atmospheric concert at the mine lagoon. Baroque music at the scenery, imposing with greatness, is heard during the first half. The second half is for the music of Itaru Sakai, Vincenzo Bellini and John Cheetham.


Ola, Topi, Eki and Jori - the golden times of Finnish schlager! Brass septet Con Brassica interprets the most requested evergreen schlagers.


This is the first concert of Geneva Brass in Lieksa Brass Week. Geneva Brass performs the Goldberg Variations of Johann Sebastian Bach. The brass sound that goes directly to the heart, Bach's music and the wonderful acoustics of the Lieksa Church - perfect blend!


The brand new duo of Visa Haarala and Fabio de Oliveira plays mesmerizing Brazilian melodies from the ones played in the ’50’s to the music that is heard in Rio de Janeiro today.


Lieksa Brass Week's virtuosos play their bravura numbers.


Italian trombonist Peter Steiner is recognized around the world as “a new trombone star within his generation”. He tours the world with pianist Constanze Hochwartner. The duo plays together with total control, and Steiner's trombone sound is very enjoyable.


Geneva Brass Quintet plays music with opera and dance flavor in this musically eclectic concert. This is a rare opportunity to hear Swiss composers' music, especially composed for Geneva Brass Quintet.

Geneva Brass Quintet will tell and play children The Pipe Story which will be interpreted in Finnish.


Two masters from two different continents, Chris Olka, tuba and Saar Berger, horn, meet at the Cultural Centre's hall.


Leopold Mozart's Concerto and Darius Milhaud's Concertino d'Hiver are the pieces that determine the final placement of the competitors. The final is accompanied by Aichi Chamber Orchestra from Japan, conducted by Yuri Nitta.


A leading Finnish trumpet player, Tero Lindberg can be heard on numerous recordings and tours by front-line Finnish artists and in many TV programmes. A great collection of light music and heroic playing will be heard in this concert.


Fletcher Mitchell plays new music from Australia, including three world premieres. A special guest Adele Mitchell joins Fletcher on one of them.


Japanese Aichi Chamber Orchestra and conductor Yuri Nitta perform for the first time in Finland. The soloist is Jouko Harjanne, trumpet. This is also a record release concert for ACOs and Jouko Harjanne's joint recording including music from Jean Sibelius and Arttu Sipilä, among others.

Lieksa Brass Week's artists play with a feeling in the candlelight of the beautiful Lieksa Church.


The United States is an inexhaustible treasure chest of music. In this concert the trombone master Jeremy Wilson performs contemporary American music from composers David Faleris, Anthony DiLorenzo and Ryan Middagh. Trumpet master Rex Richardson's program includes music of Allen Vizzutti and jazz treasures of Gene de Paul and Thelonius Monk.


Finnish Symphonic Wind Professionals with Jonas Silinskas, trumpet, Jussi Vuorinen, trombone and Chris Olka, tuba. Conductors: Anna-Leena Lumme and Marjo Riihimäki.


Con Brassica celebrates at the Mätäsvaara mine lagoon. Lieksa Brass Week is 40 years old, and the Mätäsvaara molybdene mine was born 80 years ago. Welcome to the party!
